Samsung: Secret Codes and Tricks for All Vintage Models — Complete Guide 2026
Share
This is the definitive guide to Samsung secret codes for vintage phones. Samsung uses a much richer code system than other brands — the *#9998*XXX# series from the 90s and the *#8999*XXX# series from the early 2000s give access to dozens of hidden submenus: full battery status with real voltage, debug screens, vibration test, LCD contrast, SIM file size and much more.
How the Samsung Code System Works — Read First
Samsung has used three generations of secret codes in its vintage series:
*#9998*XXX#series — models from the 90s and early 2000s (SGH-600, SGH-800, A100, A300)*#8999*XXX#series — alternative to the 9998 series, works on many of the same models- Simple
*#XXXX#codes — from the T100/D500 generation onwards
Universal Samsung trick: if a code with
*#9998*doesn't work, replace9998with0— e.g.*#9998*523#becomes*#0523#.
Production week code (very rare):
*#3283#— shows week and year of manufacture in WWYR format. The Samsung equivalent of Nokia's Warranty Codes — almost no website documents it.
