Onda: Secret Codes and Tricks for All Models — Complete Guide 2026

This is the definitive guide to Onda secret codes for all models. Onda Communication S.p.A. was an Italian mobile phone manufacturer based in Roveredo in Piano (PN), Friuli-Venezia Giulia — one of the very few Italian mobile phone manufacturers. Its main distribution partner was Telecom Italia/TIM. After the company's insolvency, the Onda brand was acquired by ONDA TLC, which today distributes senior phones (Felice series, F10 Lino) and rugged phones (Rude series) on the Italian market. This guide covers both generations.

How to Configure the SOS Button — Onda Senior Phones

For models with a dedicated SOS button (F10 Lino, F12 Felice+, some Rude variants):

  1. Go to MenuSettingsSecurity (or "Emergency" or "SOS")
  2. Enable the SOS function
  3. Enter up to 3 emergency numbers (family members, doctor, trusted neighbour)
  4. Configure the number of presses required (usually 3 rapid presses)
  5. Optionally: enable SMS alert to be sent when SOS is triggered

How it works: pressing the SOS button 3 times rapidly causes the phone to automatically call the first number on the list. If no answer within the set time, it moves to the second number, then the third.

Onda Network Unlock Procedure

Almost all vintage Onda phones were distributed by TIM and locked to the TIM network:

  1. Insert a SIM from a different operator (not TIM)
  2. Switch the phone on
  3. "Enter network code" or "SIM not accepted" appears
  4. Enter the NCK code specific to your IMEI
  5. Phone is now unlocked

How to get the NCK code: calculated from the IMEI using the hardware platform algorithm. Available from online unlocking services by providing the IMEI.

The History of Onda Communication

Onda Communication S.p.A. was founded in Roveredo in Piano (PN), Friuli-Venezia Giulia. It was an Italian-Finnish joint stock company — Italian management with software competencies from the Finnish Nokia ecosystem, and production in Nanjing, China.

The main distribution partner was Telecom Italia/TIM, giving Onda phones widespread national distribution. The range covered 2G and 3G feature phones (N-series) with models appreciated for their ease of use and Italian-localised interface.

After the original company's insolvency, the Onda brand was acquired by ONDA TLC, which continues producing senior and rugged phones targeted at the Italian market. The continuity of the Felice series name reflects the brand's heritage in senior-friendly design.

Onda and TIM: Onda phones were almost always available with a TIM SIM card included in prepaid bundles. The exclusive TIM distribution meant most models were network-locked to TIM — unlocking requires the NCK code calculated from the IMEI.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Onda still active? The original Onda Communication company is insolvent. The brand is continued by ONDA TLC, which produces senior and rugged phones for the Italian market.

Were Onda phones locked to TIM? Almost all vintage Onda models were distributed exclusively by TIM and delivered network-locked. Unlocking requires the NCK code calculated from the phone's IMEI.

What is the default security code for an Onda phone? Generally 0000 (four zeros). If that doesn't work, try 1234.

What makes Onda phones interesting for collectors? They represent one of the few examples of Italian mobile phone manufacturing. The N5000 in particular — as one of the earliest affordable 3G phones in Italy, distributed by TIM — has historical significance in the Italian mobile phone market.
