Siemens Mobile was for years the world's third largest mobile phone manufacturer. The S and C Series represent the heart of the Siemens range: S = premium business line, C = affordable consumer line. Both shared the same base hardware architecture. From the legendary S35 of 1999 — first Siemens with graphic display — to the S75 and C75 of 2005-2006, this is the most complete guide to the Siemens S and C series.
Siemens Range Structure
- S = top of range, business, larger display, more features
- C = consumer mid-range, more affordable, smaller display
- M = sports/rugged (M35, M55, M65)
- ME = military/extreme (ME45 — the most rugged)
- SL = slim/design (SL45, SL55, SL65)
- A = entry-level (A50, A55, A70)

Siemens S35 (1999) — first graphic display
First Siemens with graphic monochrome display. Internal antenna, lateral side keys, IrDA port.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Display | Monochrome graphic — larger than C35 |
| Antenna | Internal |
| Side keys | Yes |
| IrDA | Yes |
| Default code | 0000 |
S35 vs C35 key differences: S35 has internal antenna + side keys + larger display. C35 has external (visible) antenna + no side keys + smaller display.
Rare technical fact: the C35 PCB is virtually identical to the S35's. The C35 firmware even supports the S35's side buttons — they simply weren't mounted on the C35 for cost reasons.
M35: rugged variant — IP-resistant, Hurricane Yellow/Half Pipe Blue/Summit Grey colours, screwless design.
Siemens C35 (2000, codename Marabu)
Consumer version of S35. Announced at CeBIT Hannover March 2000. 7 colour variants. 20 ringtones including DJ-composed ones + built-in composer.
